For as long as she can remember herself, Uma has always been singing and performing.
While keeping the songs she had been writing to the drawer, Uma Starets started working with other artists, as a manager and a booking agent.
One of the artists she worked with was Itamar. Uma got Itamar on tour with the legendary Suede.
Not long after, Uma asked Itamar to start working with her on some of her unfinished songs.
Uma then started collaborating with more musicians from around the world that wandered their way into London, creating Uma & the Wandering Stars.
The Wandering Stars all come from very different backgrounds in different countries, and have played in music projects that range from the EuroBGvision contest to supporting Suede on their tour, and performed at various festivals, including V Festival and Blastfest.
Their debut EP Trapped was mastered by Dick Beetham (Stereophonics, Scissor Sisters, KT Tunstall etc.) and produced by Fraser Smith, an ex Shed Seven member, who also played some of the keys on this EP.
The EP ‘Trapped’ is an amalgamation of songs that incorporate the essence of its title.
Singles so far released from the EP were played on radio stations such as Absolute Radio, BBC London and RTÉ 2FM, as well as college radios in the UK and Germany.
They were also featured on various music blogs receiving rave reviews.
The EP is already is already drawing interest of industry people:
